Welcome friends, new and old, to The Colony Roleplay.
As most of you may know, I’ve been working on this baby for a few weeks now, and though it’s still incomplete, I think it is getting to the point where I’m ready to show followers, members and future members.
So have a look around and watch as it is built around you. There are certain aspects of this RP that will likely continue to grow and be added to as time goes on (The Games, the continuing technology etc etc) and there are also a few pages which I’ve simply not gotten all the information up yet. With that being said, there are many things I’ll be looking to members for their input on, because I want the Colony to be about your guys’ innovative ideas, not just mine.
So, stay tuned for things like details on the Echo Database, the Locations and Floorplans of the Colony, and please free to leave your questions with me, and I can answer them as I go. Some of them I’m sure will be answered as more pages get filled and posted, but your questions will help me to identify things I perhaps haven’t addressed yet. Once I have a few more things done, I’ll be reaching out to you guys for input/idea submissions etc.
Those of you moving over from Belv, keep in mind that your characters are in good hands, as I’m working to transfer them all over, and I have plans for all of them. I’m mostly working on one character for each of you, unless you’ve specifically talked to me about taking two over, so please let me know if you know for sure you want to take more than one character with you. Know also that it’s an option to bring them both, but only introduce one at a time, to keep it from being too overwhelming at the beginning. This is actually something I’ll encourage.
Also bear in mind that the FC directory is very incomplete right now, so for the time being, take it with a grain of salt as I’m just kind of adding to it as I’m working on the movement of bios.
I think it goes without saying that I’m incredibly excited for this new leg of our journey together, and thrilled at the idea of getting to know new applicants and roleplayers! Official Applications are not open right now, but I will be posting about them as soon as I can, once I get a few more things pulled together on the site.
Much love and all things sparkly,
As promised, the new RP is coming together quite nicely. I still have quite a bit of work together, but you are now welcome to watch it come together, and I’ll be contacting all of you shortly with questions/clarifications about the adaptations of your characters, as well as reaching out for your ideas and input.
Also, anyone who has not expressed interest in coming over to the RP, please do so ASAP, so I can start working on your content!
From the minds and makers who brought you Belvedere Institution, comes Colony 22, a literate post-apocalyptic roleplay.
**OFFICIAL TRAILER VOL 3**
Belvedere Institution - AlienStop and we start, asking all the questions
Raising alarm, a symptom of the tension
Though we’re unarmed, we fumble through the trenches
Taking apart all that we invented
brought to you by Mod!Ruaridh
Our third and final official trailer. God bless, everyone. And a thousand times thank you.
So, with an entire long weekend of next to no activity, and 95 percent of our members being inactive all week, I think it’s time for me to say goodbye to this portion of our adventure together. It’s been nearly two long years of magic, growth and passion, and as I’ve said, I’ve put far too much of my own heart and soul into this place to simply watch it wither away. Though I know our lives change and move at constantly varying speeds, I believe that the dying of the flame here is not for lack of loyalty, or interest, but rather a combination of lives being busy and the asylum portion of Belvedere simply approaching the end of it’s lifespan. You have all showed such dedication, and such love and I have to bless your hearts for how much you’ve supported me in all of this. I can’t… even begin to express what it means to me. But I also can’t properly express how gravely it pains me to let Belvedere fade into nothing. It is for this reason, with Belv at the lowest activity week in it’s lifespan, I make the painful decision to close it’s doors.
So, at least for the time being, Belvedere Roleplay is closed. It’s possible that this may be temporary, who knows, but it’s been.. magical beyond belief. So… special in so many ways. It’s been… everything to me, as have all of you been. I honestly don’t know where I would be without this place, and without all of you. Without this experience and what Belvedere Community has come to mean to me, I’d be a different person, no doubt. Being here with all of you has helped to shape me into who I am today and I’m so damn proud of all of you, and of us for being the most loving, talented and committed group of writers on all of tumblr—and yes, I’m proud enough to say it.
So from the bottom of my heart, thank you. Thank you for everything. Thank you for being such a constant, loving, stable place for not only me, but all of our members. Thank you for making me proud everyday, thank you for making me laugh and making me cry and making me squeal about characters who’ve become as real to me as my own two hands, as my own beating heart. Thank you for you sharing and for your devotion and commitment and love. Thank for making me learn and grow and for helping each other so beautifully, so earnestly and with so much strength and passion. Thank you.
Of course, closing Belv’s doors does not mean goodbye to the community. I am in the process of creating a new RP, and it’s shaping up quite nicely. My goal is to have every single one of you join with either new characters or old, or both, entirely your choice. I will be posting in Belv’s OOC frequently, as well as on the Main, so check in and of course, feel free to use the OOC as a space to commune and be together.
I know many of you are seriously considering bringing your most attached characters with you to the new space, and trust me, I have it all worked out to make that as easy for you as possible, without losing any of the character relationships that are important to you. I know you all lack information details right now, but I promise I am just a few days away from having something concrete to show you so you can get an idea of what the future might hold.
Please let me know if you are interested in joining in the moving of Belvedere Community, as I will work on reworking your bios. Also please let me know, once I post the details about the new RP, if you would like to be in anyway involved in the building of the RP, or have any ideas/request that you want to run by me. I am open to all of your input and am eager to hear your thoughts. It would make me very happy to have this place made by the hands of all of you, so please don’t be afraid to speak up and ask questions as I’m sure I’ll be asking you all plenty.
If any of you would like to submit any words or testimonials that you’d like to express to the community, please do so in the submit and I will post them.
All my love, forever my soul and eternally my affection, are truly yours.
Xoxo Rory Nathaniel Cash Hart

|Hello again, hope I'm not being a bother. Was just collecting all the info I could and I thought I had seen it but now can't find it again so maybe I only imagined it...did you want the application sent in on a personal account or an already prepared rp account? And are there certain requirements for the character blog's url?|
Helllo there! Of course it’s no bother! I love questions :D
I much prefer getting the application from a personal account, to be honest! And upon acceptance the requirements for the character blog are at the bottom of the Roleplay Guide page, but there’s no requirements for the URL itself :)
Hope that helps :D
Zo DuBose | Twenty-four; Technical Support
Honor student? Computer whiz? Yep, both were phrases that accurately described Zo. But behind the studying and ‘tap tap tap’ of the keyboard, was a hardcore—to put it simply—geek. It started with those old school games with the lame graphics and immediately she was hooked. Throughout her life these first few encounters with video games would help shape her life…for the better? Well, it depended on who she was talking to.
At the beginning her parents humored their only daughter, buying monster posters and medieval clothing and costumes to appease her. It seemed like a phase little Zo would grow up and out of, but before long, it was eye doctor appointments for glasses because she wouldn’t stop playing video games or reading under the covers with a flashlight. They expected her grades to start to fall after, and with baited breath they waited…only for it to never actually happen. Even though Zo spent most of her time on the computer, she still somehow managed to get all her schoolwork done and often finished in record time. In fact, it seemed like the promise of game-time after homework encouraged her to work even harder and eventually good grades equaled a brand new game and/or new accessories. With this, Zo managed to find a balance with her parents, and both were content to let this little agreement go on.
When it came to friends, Zo had plenty. Oh yeah, they consisted of the keyboard, the monitor, and the thirty or so members of her guild. To be honest, Zo didn’t really mind. She found that most of the people in her school were obsessed with themselves or getting their tongues down each other’s throats (ew) and she had absolutely no interest. For the moment she was content with her situation, though her parents would often nag her to go out and get some ‘fresh air’. But seriously, who needed that when she was only 21XP until the next level? “Fine, I’ll crack a window!”
This semi-obsession eventually led to her interest in more than just gaming. Her next pet project was html and coding—after all, Zo had already maxed out her levels on four different accounts in WoW—she had to find something else to do for a while. As she searched for a new game to conquer, her quick mind took to the more technical side of her most treasured object (the computer, duh) easily. Within a few months she had mastered this skill and had even got bored of it.
But as college application season rolled around and the young woman found herself on a shortage of money, she decided to start offering her services to people who wanted to set up a custom websites, or small businesses that needed help with some small infrastructure work. This eventually grew to be a small side-job that she still continued as she was accepted into her first-choice university. Computer sciences were, predictably, her most favored classes and by the end of freshman year, it was obvious that Zo would pursue a career in the technical field.
Throughout college, Zo slowly started to come out of her shell of late-night gaming and self-induced guild marathons, but only because her roommate and new best friend practically dragged her out to social functions. When it came down to it, Zo was slightly pessimistic about her peers, finding them crude, crass, and slightly moronic, but learned important social cues from her roommate. Still, she had a tendency to speak without thinking about how awkward her words would sound out loud, and usually found a way to work her quirky sense of humor into conversation.
When she graduated, her grades and references from her professors got her an offer from Google. It seemed like a dream job to most people, to work for the most popular search engine as a member of their tech team, but Zo had sent out an application to a few other places as well. Not to say that she wasn’t interested in the offer, but she hoped for something a little more… exciting. When she got the call from Belvedere, Zo immediately accepted, excited for the possibilities the job had to offer. After all, she did play that one asylum first person shooter during college a while back—though, it had been classified as horror…
Welcome back Aza!!!
Notice Board - Hiatus Update
So now that Maddie is back, Jeremy is off hiatus, but she’ll be waiting to reactivate Dante just so she can get back into the swing of things more comfortably with one character to start off.
Jessica will be putting Eva and Eloise on hiatus probably until December. In case you missed it, Eva was responsible for the death of Nurse yesterday during the first day of the power outage, and she’s been put on lock down.
And a reminder, that there is still currently no proper power at Belv. Assume that the storm is ongoing for the next little while and I’ll be posting updates over the next few days. If you missed the first posting about it, they’re HERE.
|What are your thoughts on a Lucy Liu FC for a staff member?|
Love that idea! I’ve had requests for her before I think it’s just tough to come up with new ideas for staff! But I’d love to see her as an OC :)
